The Workmec® way of approaching environmental sustainability

The energy transition as a strategic opportunity: how companies can drive change towards a sustainable future by adopting renewable energy and sustainable business practices.

In today’s global scenario of increasing environmental challenges, companies like yours have a pivotal role to play in driving change towards a greener future, making a significant impact on the world we live in.

One of the most influential and forward-looking choices a company can make is to produce energy through renewable energy.

This decision helps reduce environmental impact and represents a long-term strategic investment with significant economic and social benefits.

Everyone talks about environmental sustainability

For companies to truly embody the concept of sustainability, they must act in a way that doesn’t compromise the conditions of the environment. This means meeting the needs of the present without jeopardizing the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, a responsibility that extends far beyond our immediate surroundings.

This concept involves three fundamental pillars: the environment, the economy and society.

  • On the environmental front, sustainability should promote practices that protect ecosystems and reduce the impact of human activities on the planet.
  • Economically, it aims to create resilient and prosperous systems that do not depend on the depletion of natural resources.
  • Socially, it focuses on the well-being of communities, ensuring equity, justice and quality of life.

Adopting a sustainable vision means recognising the interconnectedness of all these aspects and working towards a balance.

Sustainability = Durability

One of the challenges companies face today about sustainability is a change of mindset in their approach to work, moving from a linear to a circular economic model.

«Within our company, when we talk about sustainability, we talk at the same time about durability» – «Building long-lasting products or machinery or production systems that are sustainable in the long term means creating solutions with a long service life, reducing the need for frequent replacement,» says Ottavia Bruno, general manager of Workmec®.

The durability of Workmec® products is paramount and implies the use of high quality materials and production techniques that, although requiring a higher initial investment, guarantee strength and longevity.

«Our commitment to producing durable products not only reduces environmental impact but also offers significant cost savings to our customers in the long run. By minimizing the need for frequent replacements, we help our customers optimize their resource management and reduce waste,» she adds.

Choosing photovoltaic systems

Adopting photovoltaic systems for electricity production is an environmentally friendly choice that drastically reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

«Our company has recently carried out a project to install 334 photovoltaic modules of 565W and 2 Growatt inverter modules of 140W, all of which will allow an annual production of 220,000 to 180,000 kW,» he says.

«Speaking of energy revenues, these plants guarantee a higher energy production than the average consumption, thus allowing a daily abatement of about 50 per cent of consumption» – «In 9 months, the plant has contributed to a reduction of 150,000 kg of CO2, the equivalent of planting 8,301 trees,» she concludes.

Our successful venture was made possible through a strategic partnership with INVECO, a Perugian company renowned nationally for its expertise in the preparation and operational leasing of photovoltaic systems. We took a leading role in the realization of cable ducts for one of their significant projects.
